Orientation Programme of Middle Wing held

The middle wing held the parent orientation programme on March 17, 2018. The event was organised in the AV room of the school and witnessed a healthy parent turnout. The event was aimed at orienting, acquainting and welcoming the parents to the Middle wing, besides introducing the curricular and co-curricular plan for the session 2018.

The event commenced at 10:30 a.m. with a welcome speech deliveredby Ms. Hina, Academic I/C Middle wing. She spoke at length and extended a warm welcome to the parents, and laid emphasis on the role of parents in the education process of children, noting education is a tri-polar process between the parent, child and teacher. She insisted that parents must keep their campus manager accounts active, and maintain a regular contact with the concerned teachers. She also gave a detailed explanation about the examination pattern of CBSE followed by the school. Ms. Hina expressed the disappointment over the absence of some parents who gave the event a miss.

The Principal, Mr. Murali spoke next. He reiterated the importance of spending quality time with the children. He advised parents to encourage their children and value their unique abilities at every step of life.The subject coordinators spoke about their respective subjects next.

Ms. Nausheen, the coordinator for English, illustrated the importance of English subject and the relentless efforts made by the faculty to develop and improve English speaking and writing skills in children. She also provided a detailed overview of the English activity planner for the session 2018.

Ms. Arjumand, the coordinator for Social Studies, spoke next about the importance and application of Social Studies in the lives of students. She talked about how the faculty works towards improving the social knowledge and skills of the children.

Mr. VijayDhar, the Pro Vice chairman of the school also addressed the audience. He advised the parents to provide quality time to the children, and insisted that they ought to share some valuable time with children in school as well. He invited the parents to come over regularly, and share their experiences and knowledge with the children in school. The new principal, Mr. Freez was also introduced to the parents with the hope that a cordial association with all parents will be maintained during his tenure as well.

This was followed by Mr. Manzoor’s speech. He spoke about Mathematics and the different methods used by the faculty in transforming Maths from a difficultand dreary subject to an easy and interesting subject. Mr. Saleem, the coordinator for Science, introduced the new ways of teaching Science used by the faculty and highlighted the adoption of teaching via applied science. He informed parents that the school is the only one in the valley to have been granted the prestigious ATL lab by NITI Ayog. A project conceived by school students in ATL has been selected for the national level exhibition.

 Mr. Hilal, the coordinator for Urdu highlighted the need to embrace Urdu wholeheartedly illustrating its aesthetic value, and benefits of good expression. Ms. Dheeba, the Coordinator for Kashmiri apprised the parents about how the faculty works towards removing the difficulties faced by the children in learning Kashmiri. She emphasized that parents must encourage the children tospeak their mother-tongue i.e. Kashmiri. Ms. Rajni, the coordinator for Hindi, spoke about the different techniques used by the faculty to make Hindi more fun.

 Last but not the least Ms. Taniya, the counselor, spoke at length. She addressed some grave issues like lack of communication and concern among parents for the children.

In the end Ms. Hina took over and conducted a question-answer session. She addressed the concerned parents’ queries. The parents shared their feedback on the orientation and expressed their gratitude as well as grievances with all. They also put forth some suggestions. All the opinions and suggestions were welcomed by the incharge and the staff and were taken constructively. A vote of thanks was delivered by Ms. Hina to conclude the event.
