School celebrates Children’s Day

Delhi Public School, Srinagar celebrated November 14, 2018, Children’s Day, which marks the birth anniversary of the first Prime Minister of India – Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru with enthusiasm and zeal, keeping in mind his words, “I may not have time for adults, but I have enough time for children.”

The teachers of Tiny Tots dressed up as little kids, took charge of the assembly to make the day unforgettable for the students. The celebrations began with the teachers reciting the school prayer. The hilarious puppet-show about the theme presented by the skilled team of teachers made the students laugh and giggle. It was followed by the traditional dance of Kashmir (Roaf) and the teachers looked pretty wearing the beautiful cloak (Phiran) speaking the grandeur and exotic trend of the valley. The children were thrilled and excitement was in the air when a group of teachers enacted the famous rhyme Naani Teri Morni. It was a treat for the eyes to watch such a unique performance by the teachers.

The highlight of the assembly was the scintillating dance performance by the teachers. The teachers showcased their talent by dancing on the peppy songs which also made the students to groove in.  Their eventful day ended with the students watching the story of Lion and the Mouse enacted by the talented group of LKG teachers.

The students were amazed to see the teachers in the avatar of kids. Of course, teachers presented chocolates and handmade cards to their children to make them feel special.
