Ashoka University holds a webinar for School students
On 4 June 2021, Ashoka University held a webinar for the students, parents and teachers of Delhi Public School Srinagar on the importance of liberal arts education, its demand in the present world and also provided the guide towards the admission process in Ashoka. Ashoka University has been established in 2014 in Sonipat, Haryana. The mentor for the webinar Mr. Harpreet Singh, Assistant Director Outreach for Ashoka university, helped students understand the concept of liberal education, its Indian context and its relevance in the real world. The speaker focused on the New Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020) which is promoting this change and the vital role it envisions for Liberal Education in holistic education for the students. The session also discussed programs offered, admission criteria, and financial aid from the Ashoka University for the students. The session was also joined by a student of Ashoka, Nikita Sethi who also helped by sharing her experiences of joining the university.
The session was divided into three segments – understanding liberal education; undergrad at Ashoka and the final Q&A session in which the students asked questions to the mentor and got all their queries answered.
