Oratoria 2025: A Triumph of Talent and Teamwork by DPS Srinagar
Delhi Public School, Society organised the Inter DPS English Literary Festival (National Level) titled “Oratoria- where Words Breathe and Voices Rise”. This event was scheduled for July 19, 2025 and was hosted by DPS Navi Mumbai. The event served as a vibrant platform for young, aspiring students from various Delhi Public Schools across the country to come together and celebrate creativity, imagination and eloquence.
The event was structured into online (first phase) and on-site (final phase) competitions, and Delhi Public School, Srinagar, was shortlisted for the Final round based on the excellent performances of the students in the first round.
Three students (Sania Zehra- Grade VII, Sheikh Ahmad Sabir- Grade X and Minha Bilal Wani-Grade XII) delivered an outstanding performance in the first round that secured the school’s selection for the final round.
In the second round, a total of six students (Zaynab Shabir Deva-grade VIII, Dayaan Murtaza- Grade VIII, Sheikh Ahmad Sabir- Grade X, Ahmad Abrar Giri- Grade XI, Hadi bin Imtiyaz- Grade XI and Manahel Khan- Grade XI) were selected to represent Delhi Public School, Srinagar in the highly challenging phase II of the competion. These students travelled to Navi Mumbai along with their escort teacher, Ms Rehana Tabassum, Coordinator, English Department, on July 18, 2025 and vied in the below-mentioned categories:
- TED-style talks
- Debate sessions
- Poetry competition
Their participation reflected not only the individual talent but also the school’s commitment to fostering a holistic approach and excellence in all the spheres of school life: academics and extracurricular activities like sports, art, music, public speaking, etc. This approach prepares them for future challenges and opportunities, shaping them into capable and responsible citizens.
The registration for the events started at around 7:30 AM on July 19, 2025, and the competitions started at 9:00 A.M. The event, in totality, was a blend of creative expression, critical thinking, imagination and argumentation. Our students participated with immense enthusiasm, dedication and proper collaboration.
We at Delhi Public School Srinagar feel proud to announce that a child from Grade X could make it to the third rank in the “Sinister Stand” category of the event. It is pertinent to mention here that the competition was very overwhelming, having 28 Delhi Public Schools from across the country.
It was a great joy to witness our students compete at a National Level with confidence, clarity and expression.
Beyond being a competition, the event truly served as a platform for learning, collaboration and the exchange of ideas among the participating schools.
All the participants from the school extend their heartfelt gratitude to the School management for providing a nurturing platform that empowers students to reach new heights and turn their dreams into reality.
