DPS Boys Shine at CBSE Clusters Table Tennis Championship 2024 (Under-17)
Two of our students, Mursal Riyaz and Murshid Riyaz, were selected for the Under-17 Table Tennis CBSE Clusters held at Sri Guru Harkrishan Public School, Kapurthala, Punjab. The students from DPS Srinagar, accompanied by their teacher, Mr. Khurshid Ali, departed on September 20th and reported to the host school on the same day.
On the next day, September 21st, the students attended the opening ceremony at the school campus, which started in the morning and continued until 2:30 PM.
The Under-17 boys’ competition began the following day. The first match was against Sri Guru Harkrishan Public School, Kapurthala, while the second match, scheduled for the next day, was against a CBSE school from Jammu. Our boys performed exceptionally well, winning in both singles and doubles, which qualified them for the quarter-finals.
The next day, the team from DPS Srinagar faced the boys from Amritsar. After a hard-fought journey to reach this level, our boys put up a strong fight and provided tough competition to the Amritsar team.
It was a valuable experience for the students, offering them insights into the level of competition they faced. Overall, it was a positive experience, both in terms of the competition and the opportunity to interact with students from different schools and cultures.
