DPS Srinagar Shines in 3rd Cannon CE Under-19 Boys Football Tournament, Siyam Ishtiyaq Wins Golden Boot
The third Cannon CE Under-19 Boys Football Tournament was held at Tyndale Biscoe School, Srinagar, from October 22 to October 27, 2024. Eighteen schools from across the valley participated in this exciting event showcasing young talent.
DPS Srinagar started their campaign with an impressive performance, decisively defeating Foundation World School with a score of 4-1. They maintained their momentum in the second match, securing another victory against Life School with a score of 5-1.
Advancing to the semifinals, DPS Srinagar faced Saint Joseph School, Baramulla, and triumphed with another strong performance, winning 4-1. Throughout the tournament, Siyam Ishtiyaq, the captain of DPS Srinagar football team was consistently recognized for his exceptional play, being awarded the Player of the Match in each of the matches.
On October 27, DPS Srinagar reached the Finals, where they faced the host school, Tyndale Biscoe. The team, once again, demonstrated remarkable skill and resilience, earning respect from both the fans and the opponents, and earned the Runner Up title.
In recognition of his outstanding contributions throughout the tournament, Siyam Ishtiyaq was awarded the Golden Boot for being the top scorer. His leadership and performance were pivotal throughout the tournament.
The tournament was a fantastic showcase of youth football, highlighting the talent and dedication of players from all participating schools.
