
Pitch Perfect: DPS Srinagar’s Girls’ Football Team Shines in New Delhi
In a landmark achievement for girls’ sports, Delhi Public School, Srinagar has delivered a sensational debut performance at the Inter DPS Girls Football Tournament 2025. Competing for the first time on a national stage, our team showcased exceptional talent and resilience, battling through a highly competitive field of 36 teams to secure a place in the quarterfinals. The prestigious tournament was held at DPS R.K. Puram, New Delhi, from September 28th to October 2nd.
The team announced their arrival with an authoritative 3–0 victory over DPS Kamptee Nagpur in their opening league match, with Sania Zehra scoring the first goal and Ayra Aamir adding a brilliant brace. Their momentum continued as they outplayed DPS Agra in a commanding 2–0 win, where Ayra Aamir once again demonstrated her scoring prowess with both goals.
Advancing to the quarterfinals, the team faced a tough challenge against the experienced host school, DPS R.K. Puram. Our girls played with remarkable spirit and determination, matching their opponents with skill and confidence. While the hosts’ experience proved to be the deciding factor, our team’s fearless performance earned them widespread appreciation and respect.
Securing a quarterfinal finish in a debut national tournament is a monumental achievement and a source of immense pride. This tournament has been an invaluable learning experience, reflecting the squad’s profound dedication and the immense potential of girls’ football at DPS Srinagar.
