Rubab Ali Punjabi wins ‘Pedal for Peace’ cycle race
Rubab Ali Punjabi, a Class XII student bagged the first position in the senior girls’ category, cycle race “Pedal for Peace” on October 11, 2020. This race was organized by Jammu and Kashmir Police to promote sports talent and create sports awareness among the youth.
More than 500 cyclists participated in the event, organized by J&K Police, in four categories Sub-Junior, Junior, Senior, and Veteran. Rubab cycled a distance of 24 kms outflanking every other competitor. Hon’ble Lt. Governor J&K Shri Manoj Sinha who graced the presentation ceremony presented her with a cash award of Rupees Twenty-Five thousand, and complimented her on her splendid performance.
The event was witnessed by a large number of sports lovers, including men, women and children, who had thronged the road on the banks of famous Dal Lake. 93.5 Red FM and GK Communication PVT. Ltd were the media partners of the event.
