Zaairah Alhaq named 2025 Global STEM Changemaker Scholar by AFS
We are proud to announce that Zaairah Alhaq, a student class XI at Delhi Public School, Srinagar has been selected as a 2025 Global STEM Changemaker Scholar by AFS Inter-cultural Program. Zairah is one of just 145 exceptional changemakers worldwide—and one of only four students from India—for the prestigious AFS Global STEM Academies program. Chosen from over 7,000 applicants globally, this remarkable achievement places her among an exclusive group of students committed to innovation, sustainability, and global collaboration.
The AFS Global STEM Academies scholarship offers a unique educational journey, beginning with a 12-week virtual learning experience, followed by a four-week,in person, immersive program in Brazil. This transformative initiative brings together bright young minds from around the world to explore critical global issues through the lens of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math), sustainability, and intercultural understanding.
During the program, Zaairah will collaborate with a diverse group of students on hands-on projects, gaining practical skills and global perspectives. Through real-world problem-solving and immersive cultural experiences, she will be empowered to become a future leader and innovator capable of contributing meaningfully to global solutions.
