Celebration of World Autism Day
The Learning Resource Center (LRC) department at Delhi Public School organized a touching celebration for World Autism Day, focusing on using art as a form of therapy and understanding. The event was thoughtfully planned to engage students’ senses and emotions. Children participated in various activities that stimulated their creativity and allowed them to express themselves. One highlight was a painting session where students joyfully used colorful poster paints to create expressive artworks with their hands. This hands-on experience not only brought happiness but also enabled the children to explore different textures and sensations.
Another engaging activity involved mirrors and dripping colors, captivating students as they observed how colors interacted and reflected on the mirrored surfaces, creating mesmerizing patterns. These initiatives aimed to create a supportive environment where every child felt valued and included. The celebration reflected the school’s commitment to empathy and inclusivity, fostering a deeper understanding and acceptance of autism within the student community. By embracing art as a means of connection and expression, the event facilitated meaningful interactions and strengthened appreciation for the unique abilities of all students. It served as a powerful reminder of the transformative potential of art-based therapy in promoting awareness, acceptance, and inclusivity within the school community.
