LRC’s Visually Impaired Students Gain Insight into Healthcare: A visit to Ujala Cygnus Hospital
The Learning Resource Center (LRC) department of Delhi Public School organized a visit to Ujala Cygnus Hospital in Nowgam on June 6, 2024, for students of the Visually Impaired Department, accompanied by their teachers. This visit aimed to expose the students to a medical environment and familiarize them with the healthcare facilities designed to support their needs.
The hospital staff was very cooperative and warmly welcomed the students and their teachers. Dr. Parvez Sofi, the head of the institution, personally escorted the students to every section of the hospital. He explained the different types of equipment and detailed various medical scenes, ensuring the students understood the healthcare processes. Ms. Arifa, along with several other doctors, also provided valuable insights and support during the tour.
During the visit, students, guided by their teachers, had the opportunity to engage with healthcare professionals, ask questions, and learn about different medical procedures and practices tailored to their requirements. This interaction not only broadened their understanding of medical care but also instilled confidence in the support available to them.
The experience was enriching and educational, fostering a sense of empowerment among the students.
