Volunteering is renowned for skill development and is often intended to promote virtue so as to improve the standard of life. It is the commitment of time and energy for the benefit of the society and is always a matter of choice. It is a legitimate way in which individuals can serve humanity. Volunteering has positive benefits for volunteers as well as for the person or community served. It helps to gain confidence, be a part of a better community, execution of new and improvised skills and learn to take challenges. Keeping all these factors in view S.E.N department planned of inducing volunteership programme to assist children for various reasons.

In 2015 a full-fledged programme was started by S.E.N to involve number of volunteers from regular school. Many students started pouring in and submitted their consents to the concerned volunteer incharge in S.E.N. Taking all these wills and desires into consideration we started taking volunteers of different age groups every year and since then the process is going smoothly with great results. This initiative of S.E.N department has been appreciated by every part of the organisation which boosted the morale of every element involved. The volunteers helped us in various ways like planning, preparing, delivering, marking, giving appropriate feedback, supervising, supporting and last but not the least motivating. Volunteers worked very enthusiastically with the staff members to achieve the required goals. Volunteers got exposed to an organisation which was full of creativity, innovation and determination. They considered it altogether a different school within a school but an integral part of the whole institution. Many volunteers felt it as a unique experience which would go a long way in their particular journeys. Many volunteers wanted to make it as their profession working with the students with special needs in future. In 2016 a great job was done by Ehtishaam, Muskaan, Irtiza, Aaliya and Sabreen. These volunteers successfully created a small documentary on the working of S.E.N department. This documentary acted as a great medium between the department and regular school. More and more students and staff members started recognising S.E.N, its process of working and achievements. These volunteers have paved the ways for other children to come forward and do different and impressive things with their lives.

With busy schedules it can be hard to find time to volunteer however the benefits of volunteering are enormous to you and your community. Give your time and energy to something valuable not in terms of profit but for self-improvement and do greater good to yourself and your society.
