10 day Theatre Workshop held by Agaaz Theatre Group, New Delhi
About 50 students gathered to participate in a theatre workshop which was conducted in Delhi Public School, Srinagar in collaboration with Aagaaz Theatre, New Delhi. The 10 day workshop involved students learning about various theatrical skills and the art of performing on the stage.
The participating students enjoyed the workshop and had a great time with the instructors. Most of the students overcame their shyness and became more confident with their performances. They learnt various forms of theatre and improvised their body language and voice modulations. Their interaction with the members of the Agaaz group was enriching and the spirit of team work and coordination was learnt at its best during the workshop. It was a new experience for the students of Kashmir where theatre doesn’t find much encouragement. Children performed with great zeal on the stage along with their other team mates and created a memorable experience for everyone. Towards the end of the workshop the children reflected on their journey through this new learning process and had an insight of their inner selves. They expressed their appreciation for their team members and also shared their insights with their parents. The energy was infectious. The workshop was a beautiful opportunity for our students to enhance their theatrical skills and recognize the hidden talent in them so as to consider a future in acting. A tearful adieu and exchanging of hugs and phone numbers made it evident that a strong connection had been built between the artists of the Agaaz Theatre group and our budding artists from DPS.
