Celebrating Diversity: Highlights from the Inaugural Virtual Cultural Exchange Program between DPS Srinagar and Shri Shikshayatan School Kolkata
Introduction:
The inaugural virtual cultural exchange program between Delhi Public School Srinagar and Shri Shikshayatan School Kolkata was a resounding success, fostering joy, talent, and enthusiasm. Marking a significant milestone, this was the first time our junior school hosted such an event. The primary objective was to broaden the cultural perspectives of our junior students, showcasing the diversity within our nation. The event was meticulously organized by Ms. Syed Sumera and Ms. Radifa Khan, collaborating with two teachers, Ms. Arisha Altaf and Ms. Azra Mushtaq, who diligently prepared the students for the occasion.
Program Highlights:
The program spanned five days, featuring various events by Grade 4 students, skillfully representing their respective Union Territory and state.
Day 1 (16th November, 2023):
DPS Srinagar initiated the event with an introduction speech, morning assembly, a thought of the day, and a virtual tour of their school.
Day 2 (17th November, 2023):
Shri Shikshayatan School Kolkata followed suit, introducing themselves with a small skit, morning assembly, and a virtual tour of their school.
Day 3 (20th November, 2023):
DPS Srinagar showcased a comprehensive PowerPoint presentation covering history, geography, landmarks, and culture of Jammu and Kashmir.
Day 4 (21st November, 2023):
Shri Shikshayatan School Kolkata reciprocated with a detailed presentation on West Bengal (Kolkata), covering similar topics.
Both sessions were highly interactive, allowing students from both ends to engage, ask questions, and share insights.
Day 5 (29th November, 2023):
DPS Srinagar presented cultural performances featuring Rouf and Ladishah. Shri Shikshayatan School Kolkata responded with equally captivating performances, creating an enjoyable experience for all participants.
The program concluded with insightful speeches and expressions of gratitude from both schools.
