The Journey:

The journey began with all the students gathering in their classrooms, where a scene of thrill and excitement unfolded as they prepared to conquer the heights. Accompanied by their class teachers and other staff members, the children boarded the buses that took them to the base of Hariparbat. The excitement was palpable as the students chatted eagerly about the trek. The weather was perfect for the day trek, with clear skies and the sun shining brightly.

Upon reaching the starting point of the trek, the students received a brief orientation from the teachers. The teachers explained the route, safety measures, and the importance of staying together as a group.

The Trek:

The trek started at Hariparbat, also known as Koh-i-Maran, a hill overlooking Srinagar, famous for its historical fort and stunning views. The path, though steep at certain points, was well-marked and safe for the children. The children walked in pairs, helping each other and showing great enthusiasm. They looked like professional trekkers wearing backpacks, hats, sunglasses, and carrying trekking poles.

As the children climbed Hariparbat, they learned about its historical and cultural significance. The teachers shared stories about the Mughal Fort and the revered Sharika Devi Temple located atop the hill.

Reaching the Summit:

The children reached the summit, where the sight was breathtaking, offering a panoramic view of Srinagar city and the Dal Lake. They were thrilled to spot various birds, including sparrows, mynas, and occasionally, a kite soaring overhead. They also observed a variety of wildflowers and trees in full bloom, adding vibrant colors to the landscape.
The group spent an hour at the top, during which they visited the ancient Sharika Devi Temple and the Mughal Fort. The children enjoyed snacks and lunch while sitting on the grassy patches of the hill.

They maintained “Go Green Go Clean” Slogan picking up all the trash around with proper usage of dustbins showcasing responsibility towards clean environment.

Descent:

The group began their descent at 1:00 PM. The return journey was filled with laughter and songs as the children shared their favorite moments of the trek. By 1:30 PM, they had safely returned to the base.
