Educational visit to Hari Parbat Fort, Srinagar
On October 22, 2024, Delhi Public School, Srinagar, organised an educational excursion for Grade 12 Humanities students to the historic Hari Parbat Fort in Srinagar. This visit aimed to provide a unique, hands-on learning experience by merging historical exploration with active involvement in a documentary project. By visiting this significant heritage site, students deepened their understanding of the region’s rich history.
Accompanied by the school’s media team, the students and staff filmed segments for a documentary that highlights the fort’s historical importance. The students actively contributed, appearing in short video segments where they shared their reflections on the significance of Hari Parbat and nearby sacred sites, including the Chatti Padshahi Gurudwara and Mukhdoom Sahib. Through these reflections, students connected with the broader historical narrative of the Mughal period, fortifications, and the layered history of Kashmir.
This visit bridged classroom learning with real-world experience, illustrating the value of experiential education in making history engaging and meaningful.
