First General school assembly on ‘Bullying’ conducted
The first general school assembly from classes 3rd-12th was conducted on May 4th, 2018 in the school ground. The assembly was conducted by the school counsellors across the board on the theme of ‘Bullying’, and presided over by the Principal. Taniya Iqbal, (Counsellor, Middle Wing) conducted the proceedings on the stage. The thought for the day was delivered by Nazia Hassan (Counsellor, Junior Wing), while Munazzah Reshie (Counsellor, Senior wing) spoke on the pressing issue of ‘Bullying’.
The endeavor of the assembly was to create awareness among students about bullying, its forms and consequences. One of the primary consequences of bullying is that it has detrimental consequences on all: the bully, the victim and the bystander. Students were encouraged to stand against bullying and be a buddy. In his address to the students, the Principal spoke out against bullying and pledged to stamp out “the culture of inaction” The assembly is one of the first steps, the school plans to create a healthier psychological environment at school.
