Frequency Frenzy Radio Festival 2025: Bridging Schools Through the Power of Radio
Delhi Public School Srinagar successfully hosted the second edition of its innovative Radio Festival, “Frequency Frenzy,” on July 30, 2025. This event, curated by the students of Radio DPS under the mentorship of RJ Nasir, highlighted the growing importance of student involvement in media, storytelling, and school-based broadcasting.
The festival saw vibrant participation from various reputed schools across the Kashmir Valley, including Birla International School, Tyndale Biscoe School, Mallinson School, Burn Hall School, Oasis Higher Secondary School, Saint Joseph School, Sanactorum Public School, and Green Valley Educational Institute. This diverse attendance underscored the event’s role as a significant platform for inter-school collaboration.
“Frequency Frenzy” featured a variety of engaging activities, including live student-run radio segments, panel discussions, and interactive dialogues addressing pressing themes such as student journalism, school radio initiatives, media literacy, and ways schools can foster student-led media platforms. These sessions provided students with valuable insights and hands-on experience in contemporary media practices.
The event was honoured by the presence of Mr. Vijay Dhar, Chairperson of DPS Srinagar, who served as the Chief Guest, and Ms. Shafaq Afshan, Principal of DPS Srinagar, who graced the occasion as Guest of Honour. Both dignitaries actively participated in panel discussions and engaged with students, emphasizing the importance of empowering young voices through media platforms.
Adding a creative dimension to the festival, students from DPS Srinagar performed on stage, showcasing cultural expressions that enriched the event’s atmosphere. Certificates of participation were presented by Ms. Shafaq Afshan to all attending schools, recognising their enthusiasm and contributions.
The success of “Frequency Frenzy” reinforces its value as a meaningful forum for nurturing communication skills, encouraging student expression, and fostering collaboration among schools. DPS Srinagar looks forward to continuing this tradition, furthering the development of future-ready, media-savvy youth.
