Nurturing Nature: A Hands-On Plantation Experience
Delhi Public School, Srinagar successfully conducted a Plantation Drive on April 28th and 29th, 2025, engaging students of Grades 1 and 2 in an enriching hands-on experience that emphasized the importance of environmental conservation and sustainable living.
The initiative aimed to instill awareness in young minds about the significance of planting trees and caring for nature. The event commenced with a classroom discussion led by teachers, where students learned about the vital role plants play in maintaining ecological balance.
At 9:45 am, students visited a local farm, where they actively participated in planting Knol Khol saplings. Under the expert guidance of farm staff, they discovered proper planting techniques and understood the steps needed to nurture healthy plants. The children thoroughly enjoyed their farm visit, exploring the surroundings and gaining firsthand insight into the impact of afforestation.
This engaging activity not only fostered a sense of responsibility among students but also deepened their appreciation for nature. Through practical learning experiences such as these, Delhi Public School Srinagar continues to encourage a culture of environmental awareness and proactive stewardship among its students.
