Thirteen students and two teachers of Delhi public School, Srinagar participated in the 22nd Session of Cathedral Model United Nations Conference (CMUN) held in Trident Hotel at Nariman Point, Mumbai from 10th August to 12th August, 2018. The conference was attended by over four hundred students from India and abroad. The students were placed in seven different committees viz Bush’s War Cabinet, Nazi High Command, United Nations War Crimes Commission, United Nations Commissioner for Refugees, International Trade Conclave, Disarmament and International Security Council, and Interpol Special Summit on Organized Crime.

Despite such stiff competition, our students ensured that their voice was heard, as they had a strong say in all discourses, raised issues of global importance, expressed their views on world peace and worked hard to draft resolutions.

In three of the seven committees our students bagged second, third and fourth positions by the end of the conference.

Baber Bilal Malik (12th D1), who won the second position in Bush’s War Cabinet, was nominated as the outstanding delegate of the committee by the board of directors.

Nabeel Akhtar(11th C1), who won the third position as most honourable delegate in United Nations Commission on War Crime, was widely acknowledged to be a very witty and strong team builder

Mohammad Zayaan (12th B2), who stood at the fourth position as verbal mention in Nazi High Command, worked very hard to defend the interest of his country in the committee.

Zubaida (10th I), in International Trade Conclave and Areeb Imran (10th H), in United Nations Commision on War Crime impressed as delegates with a penchant for depth of research.

Overall, it was a great learning experience for all the delegates and the teachers, as they were provided a wonderful platform to brainstorm on global issues in a free and fair manner.
