Mohammad Ashar Chisti of class 2A has demonstrated a unique knack for Rubik Cube art at such a tender age. He has created a portrait of the Principal Shafaq Afshan, the school logo, the logo of the school radio channel and others like his father, sister and spiderman. The portrait of the principal was created by using 475 Rubik cubes joined together over six painstaking hours. For this feat of commendable talent and labour, he was awarded an appreciation certificate on the Founder’s Day celebrations on 10th May 2022.

The Rubik’s Cube is a 3-D combination puzzle originally invented in 1974 by Hungarian sculptor and professor of architecture Ernő Rubik. Each cube has six faces formed from small cubes of one of six solid colours: white, red, blue, orange, green, and yellow. The puzzle is considered a great tool for developing cognitive thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Ashar has shown a remarkable knack for solving Rubik cubes since he was seven, when he was gifted one on his birthday. He solved the cube in four days and over time has graduated to solving three-way cube-in 55 sec, two-way cube in 15-17 sec, pyramid cube in 17-20sec, mirror cube in 1- 1:30 min. He credits the Principal Shafaq Afshan, Academic In-charge Radifa Nazir and his class teacher Namrita Kour for motivating and encouraging him to pursue his talent.
