Two days workshop on Assessment of Listening and Speaking
A two days workshop was organized by CBSE in our school for ASL (Assessment of Listening and Speaking) on 25th & 26th, March 2016. Many schools of the valley were invited. The facilitators were Ms. Heemal Handoo, Principal Hansraj School, Delhi and Ms. Kamal, an English teacher from Chandigarh. The workshop was attended by the English faculty and teachers from SEN department of our school and some teachers from Sainik School, Manasbal. It was a very enriching experience for all the attendees. On both days the facilitators explained the correct procedure of conducting ASL through various tasks and group activities.They also made us acquainted with different aspects of ASL. First day, was dedicated to listening assessment and the main focus was on its importance, procedures and assessment. On second day, the focus was on speaking assessment, it’s importance, procedures and assessment.. Ms. Heemal and Ms. Kamal were well prepared and carried out the workshop with great ease and efficiency. It was a wonderful opportunity for the English teachers to clarify any doubts they had about conducting ASL. The teachers got to know about some changes which could be made in conducting ASL for the betterment of our children. Overall, the session was quite informative and productive.
