Dipsite bags Bronze in International Taekwondo Championship in Nepal
Afreen Haider, a student of class XII, made the valley by winning a bronze medal in the 1st Women International Taekwondo Championship held in Nepal on 5th and 6th April, 2017. The event was jointly organized by Nepal Taekwondo Association and Women’s Empowerment Committee of Nepal.
This is, however, not the only time Afreen has received acclaim for her talent. She has claimed gold medal twice before as well. Once in the Khelo India State Level Taekwondo Championship and the second time in the Taekwondo championship organized by Federation of India in collaboration with J&K State Sports Council. Both times Afreen was felicitated by the Honorable Minister of state, Mr. Chaudhary Lal Singh.
