YOUTH EXCHANGE AND STUDY PROGRAMM-2014/2015
KL-YES (Kennedy Lugar Youth Exchange and Study program) is an innovative high school student exchange program funded by the US state department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural affairs. It is a wonderful student exchange program that provides scholarship for bright young minds and gives them the opportunity to spend their one whole academic year in the United States of America. Through these intercultural learning programs AFS- a not-for-profit corporation headquartered in New York, USA assists participating students, families, volunteers and community members in acquiring the skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to contribute meaningfully in a culturally diverse, increasingly interdependent world. It is a wonderful opportunity for all the young minds to begin their global exploration and gain a stronger understanding of US- Indian and international relations.
Delhi Public School has taken a step forward by encouraging this brilliant student exchange program through which its young minds will get an excellent opportunity to come out of their inhibitions and witness the world that is waiting outside for them, filled with the tremendous opportunities that they can exploit and get the best from it. Last year, Delhi Public School sent two of its young students Asar M Lone and Haziq to spend one academic year in US and represent themselves as individuals and at the same time also represent their country at an international level. It is a matter of great pride and to honour for Delhi Public School to have such brilliant young blessed children endowed with the capability of establishing their uniqueness and exceptionality worldwide at such a tender age. At the same time, Delhi Public School also feels equally honored by contributing to the agenda of bringing the world closer and hence making it a better place to live. This year Delhi Public School has once again proved that their students have the personal and academic qualities needed as a YES Program Youth Ambassador from India to the US by again propelling their three young students, Surbhi Showkat, Tarab Muzaffar and Deeba Tariq (Waiting List) as youth ambassadors to the United States of America. The selection process to participate in this program was extremely difficult and they had to involve in quite a lot of personal and academic assessments before finally becoming the owners of this great asset. The trials were challenging but all the three of them faced them with outstanding rigidity and overcame everything that was required to prove themselves. Delhi Public School wishes them all the very best for their career and also aspires for the enhancement of their personal to the cross-communicational skills. Delhi Public School is looking forward launching of many more of its young students as ambassadors and provide them with the opportunity of living their dreams and making the most out of their lives.
