A Day of Fitness, Fun, and Fellowship: Sports Day 2025

The Learning Resource Centre (LRC) Department of Delhi Public School, Srinagar celebrated its Sports Day on May 21, 2025, with great zeal and joyful participation. The day began with an inspiring address by the Chairman,Mr. Vijay Dhar, whose motivating words lifted everyone’s spirits and set the tone for the event. Students then took part in a wide range of engaging activities that promoted fitness, teamwork, and fun.

The programme opened with an impressive Hula Hoop performance, where students displayed balance and rhythm. This was followed by the Canadian Race, an exciting obstacle course involving cones, hurdles, and mats. In Football, students warmed up and played a short yet thrilling match that showcased great coordination and enthusiasm. The Lezium drill added a cultural touch with synchronized movements using traditional sticks, while the Yoga session brought calm and focus through guided poses. The Dumbbell Drill highlighted strength and rhythm with coordinated exercises using light dumbbells.

In the Cricket Drill, students confidently demonstrated a variety of batting styles, and Chair Zumba added energy and fun with a lively seated dance routine. The Relay Race featured separate races for boys, girls, and even parents, with participants passing batons in a spirited show of speed and teamwork. The Water Drill turned into a cheerful race to fill buckets using mugs, sparking laughter and friendly competition. One of the most exciting moments was the Tug of War, especially the final round between parents and teachers, which was met with loud cheers and hearty encouragement.

The event concluded with a warm closing ceremony. The Vice-Principal, Ms. Monisa, shared a few encouraging words, appreciating the efforts of all the students and staff. She also awarded medals and certificates to the winners. It was a memorable day that beautifully brought together fitness, fun, and a strong sense of community.
