DPS Srinagar Hosts Comprehensive Grade I Orientation
Delhi Public School Srinagar successfully conducted the Grade 1 Orientation Programme, marking a well-structured and positive beginning to the new academic session.
The orientation was organised in two phases to ensure meaningful interaction and clarity for parents. In the first phase, Ms. Radifa addressed the gathering and presented a comprehensive overview of the theme-based curriculum. She shared key guidelines related to academic planning, school procedures, the Learning Resource Centre (LRC), and the institution’s recent achievements. Her address provided parents with a clear understanding of the school’s vision and approach towards holistic education.
The second phase was conducted in respective classrooms, where homeroom teachers engaged directly with parents. They elaborated on the annual theme, explained subject integration and skill development, and outlined assessment practices and communication protocols. Important academic and behavioural expectations were also discussed to ensure a smooth and structured learning journey for students.
Out of 311 parents, 226 attended the orientation, while 30 parents had informed the school in advance that they were out of station and unable to attend. The key highlights of the session will be shared with all parents to ensure inclusivity and transparency.
Parents appreciated the detailed presentations, especially the videos and photographs showcasing classroom activities, which offered valuable insight into the learning environment. Queries raised during the session, primarily regarding section shuffling, were addressed clearly and satisfactorily.
The programme fostered a constructive dialogue between parents and teachers at the very outset of the academic year. It enabled parents to gain confidence in the school’s processes while providing teachers an opportunity to understand parental expectations better.
