Orientation for Class XI Outlines Academic Framework and Expectations

31-03-26

The Orientation Programme for Class XI was held with active participation from parents. The session aimed to familiarise them with the academic framework and expectations for the new session.

The programme was conducted in two phases. In the first phase, parents were briefed on the academic planner, subject combinations and newly introduced courses. It was clearly stated that subject changes would be permitted only up to April, after which no modifications would be allowed. The revised examination pattern was explained, including the introduction of Monday Tests for continuous preparation. The distinction between theory and practical components was clarified, with emphasis on passing both separately. Parents were also informed about the report card structure and the importance of maintaining a minimum of 75 percent attendance. The session also highlighted the achievements of alumni and current students in prestigious fields.

In the second phase, parents interacted with homeroom and subject teachers. They were given subject-specific details regarding syllabus, learning objectives, assessment practices and communication channels.

The session concluded with an interactive discussion. Parents expressed the need for structured career counselling and requested greater involvement in such sessions to better support their children.

Overall, the orientation was informative and well organised, reinforcing the importance of coordination between school and parents at this stage.
