The Learning Resource Centre recently conducted an activity titled “Guided Storytelling with Sound Effects,” based on the story “Milo the Monkey’s Healthy Day.” The session aimed to promote healthy eating habits while strengthening listening and comprehension skills among students.

The story was presented using sound effects such as bell rings, drum beats, crunching sounds, and water sounds, which made the narration lively and engaging. Students responded to cues, repeated key phrases such as “No thank you” and “Healthy food,” and identified healthy and unhealthy food choices during the session.

The activity concluded with a short question-and-answer segment to reinforce learning. The session proved to be engaging and effective, helping students develop listening skills, encouraging verbal participation, and building awareness about healthy lifestyle habits.
