WE SHALL OVER COME – DPS SRINAGAR DOES ITS BIT

23-12-14

After the devastating floods of September that rendered thousands homeless and caused mass destruction all over the valley, a good number of student volunteers of DPS Srinagar of class VI, VII and VIII lent a helping hand to the affected families in Lasjan, Gulzarpora, Batpora, Pandrathen & Seerbagh areas of Srinagar by distributing relief packets. The student volunteers under the supervision of two senior students from the Department of Humanities, Iram Muzaffar of class XII – D and Shah Iflah of class XI – D went door to door to do the survey of the severely hit flood victims of the areas. Following the survey, the volunteers distributed the relief packets arranged by the school itself. The packets contained two or three blankets, warm clothes, a torch and other important articles each. One hundred relief packets were distributed in all.

The relief distribution by the school was a commendable piece of Social work at the hands of the budding citizens of tomorrow.
