DPS Srinagar adjudged ‘School of the Year’
DPS Srinagar emerged as the winner of the title “School of the Year” at an inter-school competition held in Kashmir Harvard School. The competition was held from 11th September to 16th September 2017. Seventeen schools from across the valley competed with each other for the title. The competition spanned several categories including Painting, Instrumental music, Mimicry, Theatre, Calligraphy, and Poster making.
Our students put in an immense effort across all categories and won accolades for their praiseworthy performances. Sussanne Aftab and Malik Babar secured the first position in the debate competition. Babara Shafiqi and Damini Pandita secured the first position in Poetry writing and Kashmiri vocals respectively. Other students too secured accolades as follows: Theatre – the school troupe comprising Zahadat Amin, Noman Zahoor, Adain Shabir, Yahya Kazmi, Daib Malik was adjudged the second best. In Mimicry (Turab Ali) instrumental (Tabish Wani) and Calligraphy (Iqra Javid), the school stood second. In painting (Shazia Sharief) poster making (Hayaan Nayeem) and Cartoon (Imtisaal), the school stood third. The students were mentored by Mr. Sajid Mohiuddin, Mrs. Saira Raza, Mr. Asif Iqbal, Mr. Arshid and Mr. Parvez.
