DPS Srinagar excels in music at ‘UT Level Kala Utsav’
DPS Srinagar put on a soul soothing show of musical prowess at the at the ‘UT Level Kala Utsav’ held in Jammu on 29th and 30th November. In the Vocal Music – Classical Category , Syed Meeran Geelani secured the second position. Blending the ragas with a mellifluous voice, and a masterful command over the intricacies of chords and voice shifts, Meeran mesmerised the audience with his improvisations and renditions. Similarly in the Instrumental Music – Melodic category, Ali Shabir mesmerized the audience with his soulful rendition on the rabab, securing the coveted 1st position.
His mastery of the instrument reflected both skill and passion. Another student: Abeer Ahmad Shah showcased exceptional versatility by playing the dholak, noot, and tumbaknari, earning the 1st position in the Instrumental Music – Percussive category. Abeer’s command over these percussive instruments demonstrated his dedication to his craft. Raqeem Ahmad Tak, with his skillful accompaniment on the harmonium, added depth and harmony to each performance, contributing significantly to the overall success of the DPS Srinagar contingent.
