DPS Srinagar Shines at District Taekwondo Championships
In a remarkable display of skill and determination, students from DPS Srinagar emerged victorious at the District Srinagar Taekwondo Championships, organised by the District Taekwondo Association in collaboration with Youth Services Srinagar, Fit India, Khelo India, and the Taekwondo Federation of India. The event, held at SKICC Srinagar from 30th September to 2nd October, saw over 300 athletes competing in various categories.
Our school takes immense pride in announcing that Mohammad Rafan Bhat (Class 11th, ID: 4985) and Qamar Sameer (Class 11th, ID: 5594) won gold and silver medals, respectively, in their categories. Their outstanding performance has qualified them for the J&K District Inter-UT Level Taekwondo Championship, scheduled for January 2025 in Jammu.
The 14th District Championship, held at the Sher-e-Kashmir Indoor Sports Complex, provided a platform for young athletes to demonstrate their talent, with around 150 participants representing schools and clubs from across the district. The championship concluded with high praise from Dr Basharat Ali, Assistant Director of the Directorate of Physical Education at Kashmir University, who encouraged the participants to continue their sporting journeys.
DPS Srinagar students, with their stellar achievements, have truly brought honour to the school and are now set to make their mark on a larger stage.
