DPS wins big at IIMUN 2017
Five students of our school – Malik Babar Bilal, Syed Taha Kaleem, Samridhi karma, Anusha Wani and Fiza Maqbool participated in the Indian International Model United Nations 2017, Chapter Srinagar hosted by Bisco-Mallinson School, Srinagar from 4th to 6th August, 2017. The students were placed in different committees which represented various political parties and diverse shades of opinion. DPSites proved that they can combine insight well with expression and delivered incisive and relevant opinions on thorny issues like Triple Talaq.
All the students were lauded for their excellent performance and awarded medals for it. Samridhi Kamra from class 12 was awarded the best delegate award of her committee, while Syed Taha Kaleem was awarded the second highest prize – High commendation award. Besides, Malik Baber was chosen as the Second Best delegate to Security Counsel of United Nations, Anusha Wani – the Second Best delegate to UNCEB (Director General of ILO) and Fiza Maqbool Second Best delegate to NITI AYOG. Our student delegation was also declared to be the Best Delegation of IIMUN 2017. The students were escorted by Showkat Ahmad Ganai – teacher in the secondary wing.
