School emerges runner-up in ‘2nd National U-16 Red Ball Cricket Championship’
The school emerged the runner-up in the ‘2nd National U-16 Red Ball Cricket Championship’ organized by Punjab Red Ball Cricket Association. The team gelled well together, and put together sterling performances that won the plaudits of experts and spectators alike. In the semi-finals, the school team handed over a resounding defeat to Rajasthan – the table toppers defeating them by 7 wickets. The final was a dramatic and closely fought affair where the rub of the green went against us, as the inform opener Sarmad was run out in an unfortunate manner. Chasing a tall order of 95 in the allotted 10 overs, the team kept pace with the required rate, but eventually fell five runs short.
The result secured us a spot in the Upcoming Nationals to be held at Delhi Feroz Shah Kotla International stadium in the month of September in which selected teams from all over the country will participate. Moreover, a few of our players were selected to represent Team India in the Red Ball Cricket tournament which will take place in Spain and Dubai at the end of the year.
