A Class VIII Celebration Honoring Mother’s Day
Delhi Public School, Srinagar celebrated the mother’s day on June 7th, 2023.The programme was presented by Class VIII students and was held at school indoor stadium. The event saw a huge turnout of mothers. The students warmly welcomed the mothers as they arrived, ensuring that everyone was comfortable and seated before the event began. The event commenced with a soulful prayer by the school choir, setting a serene and uplifting tone for the day.
The indoor stadium was beautifully decorated by teachers , art faculty and IT department which added charm to the elegance of the event. The audience was captivated by the anchoring that seamlessly switched between three different languages; English, Urdu and Kashmiri. The student anchors displayed their eloquence and flair as the kept the event lively and interesting.
The program was well-planned and included various performances such as dances, music, skits, and even an orchestra. Additionally, videos and IT presentations were included, showcasing the love and appreciation that students have for their mothers. The students took the stage, dazzling the audience with their engaging dance performances and thought-provoking skits. A masterful display of a range of dance forms, including classical and contemporary, kept the attendees spellbound. The skits were particularly poignant, vividly portraying the selfless love and tireless sacrifices that mothers make for their children. There were a few emotional scenes that touched the heart of everyone in the audience. Each programme was presented brilliantly displaying the efforts and hardwork of teachers and students.
One of the highlights of the celebration was a ramp walk featuring mothers from diverse states across our country. The performance was aesthetically pleasing and had an underlying message that all mothers are the same, regardless of their background. Watching the energized and enthusiastic students during the performances who spoke about the importance and unconditional love of mothers in different languages was a pleasant sight for all. A beautiful orchestra by a group of students under the guidance of music faculty showcasing a blend of Kashmiri songs, was a brilliant addition to the program.
The Chairman Mr. Vijay Dhar, graced the occasion, acknowledging the students’ efforts with their gracious presence and hearty applause, he highlighting the importance of motherhood and the sacrifices that mothers make to ensure the success of their children. He praised Mrs. Kiran Dhar as a true mother of this school, whose devotion and affection has elevated the school to this level. He also thanked the teachers and students for their efforts in putting up such a beautiful event.
The Principal Ms. Shafaq Afshan appreciated the students and teachers for their excellent planning and execution of the Mother’s Day celebration. She also encouraged the students to continue showing love and care towards their mothers and to appreciate their efforts in raising their children.
She expressed her gratitude for everyone’s invaluable contribution that made the celebration a grand success. She applauded the teachers of class VIII and the academic Incharge Ms. Monisa Khurseed who had trained the students and helped them polish their skills. She also mentioned that the teachers’ guidance and support were instrumental in making the event a success. The parents and guardians of the students showered their appreciation on the school’s efforts and enjoyed the day’s proceedings.
Overall, it was a heartwarming event that left everyone feeling grateful and appreciative of all the mothers out there who work tirelessly to support their children. The entire event served as a heartening reminder to all in attendance to appreciate and cherish their loved ones, especially the irreplaceable place our mothers hold in our lives.
