Career Counseling Session with world renowned Education Guide and Motivator, Dr Pratibha Jain
The career counseling department of DPS Srinagar organized a career guidance session that was held with Dr. Pratibha Jain, a world-renowned career coach on June 19th, 2023 at Senior Auditorium. The session was aimed at providing guidance to Class 11th and 12th students in choosing the right career path and exploring one’s interests, researching different career options, and developing essential skills.

Dr. Jain began the session by introducing herself and her experience in the field of career coaching. She then emphasized the importance of choosing a career path that aligns with one’s interests and passions, rather than just following societal expectations. She advised the students to take their time in exploring their interests, strengths, and weaknesses before making a decision. She suggested various methods for researching different career options, such as reading about them, talking to people in those fields, and even trying out internships or shadowing opportunities.
Dr. Jain also discussed the key factors to decide the course. It included Interest & aptitude for the subject, Scope for growth in the profession, career aspirations, family budget and location preferences. She also discussed the “New Age Degrees” available for the students such as Business Analytics, Data Science with AI and ML, Film Making- OTT Platforms, Animation Design, Fin-Tech, Culinary Sciences, Sports Management, Sports Science- Psychology and Robotics.
During the session, Dr. Jain answered questions from the students, providing them with valuable insights and advice. She emphasized the importance of seeking guidance from teachers, parents, and career counselors in making an informed decision about their careers.
