Class VIII Annual Day – Echoes of Celebration: A Day of Camaraderie and Togetherness

DPS Srinagar’s much-awaited Annual Day was celebrated with immense enthusiasm and joy, creating a truly memorable occasion for students, parents, and staff. The event commenced on a serene and dignified note with the School Prayer, followed by the auspicious Izband Sozi ceremony, which marked a blessed and positive start to the day’s festivities. The gracious presence of parents as esteemed guests added a special warmth to the atmosphere and provided great encouragement to the young performers.

This year’s celebration was beautifully woven around the theme, “Festivals: A Love, Unity, and Happiness.” This central idea was brought to life through a delightful array of student performances that celebrated togetherness and cultural harmony. The program featured a vibrant showcase of skits, dances, songs, and dramatizations, each depicting the richness of India’s diverse traditions. From the energetic celebrations of Navratri, Holi, Baisakhi, and Teej to the heartfelt portrayals of Diwali, Eid, and Onam, every act powerfully conveyed a message of peace and unity. The spirit of patriotism was also honored through inspiring performances dedicated to Independence Day and Gandhi Jayanti.

Among the many wonderful presentations, a few moments stood out for their exceptional execution. A theatrical performance centered on the festival of Lohri was particularly engaging, capturing its cultural significance and joyful spirit. The Music Department delivered a mesmerizing instrumental recital that highlighted the remarkable talent and harmony of our students, while their vocal performance filled the hall with marvelous rhythm and energy. Guiding the audience through this journey were the student anchors, who conducted the programme with commendable confidence and grace, ensuring a smooth and captivating flow from start to finish.

The Annual Day celebration drew to a close with an address from our respected Principal, Mrs. Shafaq Afshan. She expressed her sincere appreciation for the dedicated efforts of all the teachers, students, and support staff who worked tirelessly to make the event a grand success. Her encouraging words and special thanks to all contributors inspired a sense of collective achievement. The event concluded with heartfelt applause, leaving the entire school community with a feeling of immense pride and reinforcing the vibrant spirit of learning, joy, and togetherness that defines our institution.
