Grade 2 visits vegetable farm
An outdoor activity: Visit to a farm house was conducted on 27th March 2023, Monday for the students of grade 2. The activity aimed at creating environmental consciousness in the students, as well as familiarise them with the dignity of manual labour and self-reliance.
The activity commenced with a short introduction by the teacher in the class on the importance of plants, vegetables and the need for growing them more. The students then proceeded to visit the farm. They spent the morning strolling about the farm and harvesting the veggies planted by them during their previous visit to the farm.
For their exertions on a warm day, the students were rewarded with a short break to munch on some lunch and recoup their energy. They left the farm laden with Knol Kohl – the fruit of their labours, all excitement at the idea of having grown their own food. Overall, the trip was a great success, and a memory to savour for the young buds.
