24-04-26

Grade III students of Delhi Public School Srinagar participated in an adventurous and enriching trek to Hari Parbat on 23 April 2026 as part of the school’s outdoor learning programme. The excursion was organised to provide students with learning experiences beyond the classroom while encouraging appreciation for nature and local heritage.

The students travelled to Badamwari, which served as the starting point of the trek. Before the ascent, they were briefed about safety measures and group coordination. The climb to Hari Parbat, also known as Koh-i-Maran, was undertaken with enthusiasm and excitement. Despite certain steep stretches along the route, the students remained energetic and displayed teamwork and determination throughout the trek.

Upon reaching the summit, students enjoyed panoramic views of Srinagar and explored important landmarks, including the historic fort and the revered Sharika Devi Temple. They later shared lunch in the scenic surroundings, which added to the overall experience. The students also demonstrated environmental responsibility by ensuring cleanliness and collecting litter from the area.

The group safely completed the descent and returned to school after a fulfilling day of exploration and learning. The trek proved to be a memorable experience that combined adventure with education and encouraged students to connect more deeply with their environment and cultural heritage.
