Grades 7 and 8 Orientation Sets the Tone for the Academic Year

11-03-26

The Orientation Programme for Grades 7 and 8 was conducted to familiarise parents with the academic framework and expectations for the new academic year. The session provided a valuable platform for dialogue and collaboration between parents and educators.

The programme commenced with the Academic In-Charge, expressing sincere appreciation for the continued partnership of parents. He emphasised that students thrive when home and school work together and outlined the academic roadmap for the year. The co-scholastic calendar, including clubs, Annual Days and Sports Days, was also presented, highlighting the school’s commitment to holistic development.

Homeroom teachers then shared a detailed overview of the syllabus and explained the design and purpose of the newly introduced question banks. The structure of assessments and examination papers was also clarified to ensure transparency and understanding. Updates regarding school SOPs were communicated, with particular emphasis on the importance of regular attendance.

The interactive Q&A session proved to be constructive and engaging. Discussions mainly centred around cycle tests and question banks. While many parents appreciated the academic rigour, some expressed concerns regarding the intensity of assessments and the need to ensure adequate breathing space for students.

Parents also shared thoughtful suggestions, including the introduction of more technology-driven clubs and the option of conducting select PTMs online to support working professionals. Recommendations were also made to enhance classroom comfort through improved infrastructure.

The programme concluded on a positive and collaborative note, reaffirming the shared commitment of the school and parents to maintain open communication and to ensure a year that is both academically enriching and emotionally supportive for every child.
