LKG Annual Day Blooms with the Theme “Gardens and Kashmir
Delhi Public School, Srinagar, celebrated its LKG Annual Day with the heartwarming theme “Gardens and Kashmir.” The school’s indoor stadium was filled with enthusiastic parents and teachers, and the event was graced by Principal Ms Shafat Afshan and Academic In-Charge Ms Radifa Khan, whose presence encouraged the young performers.
The programme opened with a calm and soulful prayer, followed by a cheerful welcome from confident LKG anchors. The stage then unfolded into a vibrant celebration of Kashmir’s beauty and the innocence of childhood, with each class bringing a unique expression of culture, unity, and nature.
Performances included a touching skit on brotherhood showcasing harmony among communities, and graceful dance pieces like “Yemberzal,” “Rind Posh Maal,” and “Tosh Tosh Bulbulo,” which highlighted the rhythm and charm of Kashmiri folk life. The stage also blossomed with creative portrayals of flowers, springtime, and village joy, keeping the audience engaged and delighted throughout.
In parallel, the theme of environmental love was brought alive through a thoughtful skit on the Chipko Movement and a delightful depiction of the life cycle of a butterfly, symbolising growth and transformation. The event concluded with a stunning presentation of “Yeh Jannat-e-Kashmir” followed by a traditional Kashmiri fashion show, where the little ones walked proudly in cultural attire.
The Annual Day was a resounding success, beautifully blending cultural pride with lessons of unity and love for nature. With the guidance of Ms Afshan and Ms Khan, the celebration stood as a reminder that even the youngest learners can bring colour, meaning, and fragrance to the world around them.
