Delhi Public School, Srinagar, was buzzing with cheerful energy and creativity as our school community came together to celebrate the much-awaited “Winter Solstice” Fest. The entire campus was transformed into a vibrant carnival of colour and joy, thanks to the incredible teamwork of our students and teachers. The day was a grand success, serving as a wonderful platform for our students to showcase their diverse skills, teamwork, and innovative spirit.

The heart of the fest was undoubtedly the student-run stalls. Students from Grades IX to XII displayed their entrepreneurial side with an amazing food court that stretched from the Doodlewall to the amphitheatre. The air was filled with the delightful aromas of biryani, barbeque, traditional Harissa, Kehwa, and a variety of homemade cakes.

Just as impressive was the “Crafts and Accessories” section near the Yellow House, which became a hub of artistry. Students showcased beautiful handmade tapestries, wool-knitted flowers, and caps. The standout hit was the collection of glass-bead bracelets, which were in high demand all day.

The festive atmosphere was completed by the “Music Corner” at the podium, where students’ melodies filled the air, and the Indoor Stadium, which hosted a stunning display of various dance forms. A special point of pride for the entire school was our commitment to sustainability. The entire event was free of polythene, with students and staff diligently managing waste, proving that a large-scale celebration can also be wonderfully eco-friendly.
